Project Scope
Speed Reading App created an engaging and accessible digital speed-reading training platform designed to significantly improve users' reading speeds without compromising comprehension. Targeted at professionals, students, and general readers who face time constraints, the application had to cater to various devices, ensuring compatibility across desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Key objectives included intuitive user experiences, adaptive content pacing, engaging visual storytelling, and measurable progress tracking to enhance user retention and motivation.
Design Process
The design process began with thorough user research to understand the pain points and goals of individuals struggling with slow reading and limited comprehension. From these insights, user personas and scenarios were developed, providing clarity about target users. Wireframes and initial sketches were created to outline user interactions and key functionalities. Subsequently, iterative prototyping and usability testing phases refined the user interface, ensuring it was visually appealing and easy to navigate. Animated illustrations and visual storytelling were integral parts of the design approach, enhancing engagement and simplifying complex concepts related to reading techniques. A cohesive design language employing vibrant colours and illustrative graphics was maintained across all touchpoints, emphasising clarity and ease of use.
Results
The resulting platform successfully transformed the concept of speed reading into an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Users reported significant improvements, with many achieving a reading speed of up to 800 words per minute without losing comprehension. The engaging animated illustrations and intuitive UI substantially increased user motivation, satisfaction, and retention rates.
