Project Scope
This project focused on designing a performance analytics dashboard for Adaptive Curriculum, a digital education platform that supports student-centred learning. The aim was to provide teachers with a tablet-optimised tool to monitor student progress across subjects and lessons in real time. The dashboard needed to visualise key metrics such as proficiency, readiness, engagement, and assignment performance—helping educators make quick, informed decisions within and beyond the classroom setting.
Design Process
As the lead product designer, I was responsible for defining the UX strategy and crafting the full UI for the Adaptive Curriculum dashboard. The dashboard was intended to serve both high-level overviews and detailed insights. Teachers could track overall class performance while also drilling down into individual student journeys. The interface needed to be intuitive and data-rich, offering meaningful feedback through clear visual cues. My goal was to turn complex educational data into actionable insights using thoughtful design systems, while ensuring accessibility and ease of use on tablet devices.
Results
The dashboard was met with strong approval during testing and early rollout. Teachers found the interface intuitive, and the visual data breakdowns helped them immediately identify who needed intervention and where. The “proficiency over time” and “engagement tracking” features proved especially useful for monitoring student effort and assigning personalised learning paths. Overall, the design significantly improved the efficiency of classroom planning and supported more targeted instruction. The modular structure also allowed the dashboard to scale across subjects and accommodate future data streams with minimal rework.
